BLUE
The origins of JAPAN BLUE that captivated the world
Struck by Japan’s indigo-dyed clothing, a 19th-century British scientist named its color “JAPAN BLUE.” We carry that tradition forward in jeans that reflect Japanese culture and aesthetics.
Vintage character. Unexpected comfort. Crafted in Kojima, Okayama, with modern technology.

Struck by Japan’s indigo-dyed clothing, a 19th-century British scientist named its color “JAPAN BLUE.” We carry that tradition forward in jeans that reflect Japanese culture and aesthetics.
Vintage character, shaped for modern comfort
Authentic denim with a comfortable fit, shaped by precise designs and silhouettes. Japan Blue Jeans brings you a new denim experience, and it all starts with the fabric.
Fabric, built from the yarn up
Guided by our belief that “making jeans means making fabric,” we use our unique spinning technology to create yarn that is both strong and flexible. The result is denim with an authentic look and a light, comfortable feel.
Finishing that brings out the beauty of age
Kojima’s traditional finishing techniques go beyond simple distressing, drawing out the fabric’s natural character to create a realistic, lived-in look. From the moment you put them on, you can enjoy the charm of denim worn for years.

Start here. The pieces that define us.
On November 20, 2026, Japan Blue Jeans opens its second store in Shibuya at SHIBUYA PARCO—a symmetrical space where Japanese tradition meets modern design, centered on an art wall by Hideki Kimura. To celebrate the opening, we will host a three-day custom workshop with DWS.
