JAPAN BLUE JEANS is committed to ”MADE IN JAPAN" and all processes are done in Japan.

There are various production processes involved in making jeans, and each process has its own people and craftspeople.

We interviewed 3 craftspeople involved in the production of JAPAN BLUE JEANS.

Ms. Hiromi Nishihara works as a pattern maker to design a variety of clothing patterns and prepares the associated specifications, checks samples,
and takes measurements etc. She works for not only JAPAN BLUE JEANS but other brands as well while cooperating with production team. We
asked her what kind of work the pattern maker which is behind the scenes is.

"For a project at JAPAN BLUE JEANS, together with merchandiser and sales, we discuss measurements and silhouette, and about comfortability of
wearing thoroughly. Even if the first production is successfully completed, we cannot be overjoyed at it.
We have to keep updating and to fix small problems to improve the model into the best quality."

Ms. Nishihara used to work at a sewing factory at Fukuyama and learnt about the pattern. After experiencing setbacks and other twists and turns
over there, she moved to the current position.

Among the patterns she worked on, she thinks that JAPAN BLUE JEANS'
standard selvedge jeans were very rewarding.
"Since JAPAN BLUE JEANS' selvedge jeans are basically one washed,
we made the pattern that appropriate for one washed denim.
Furthermore, even if the shrinkage of the fabric changes depending on the
production lot number or the season, we fine-tune the pattern so the
finished products will be as consistent as possible.

Each model has own patterns and size variations, so it is a lot of work to manage every single, but when I get compliments from the production,
merchandiser, and sales teams, I am glad I did my best!
We hope that our work and also feelings to our products would also reach to the people who pick up JAPAN BLUE JEANS throughout products.
