Which do you prefer, button fly or zipper fly?

We can see jeans with a zipper fly everywhere today, but actually zipper was not invented when jeans were born.

The zipper was invented in 1891.

At that time, skewing and sanforizing technology had not yet been developed, so denim fabrics shrank and twisted so much that zippers did not work well.

In addition to it, button was more durable than zipper, so buttons were common for jeans.

The first pair of jeans with zipper fly was born in 1926.

They had been spreading to all over the world with the development of finishing process technology.

In JAPAN BLUE JEANS, most of products are zipper fly jeans, but I am actually a button fly person.

There are two reasons for it.

One is because of the fading (aging).

You can see the fading on the button fly!

Another reason is that I like old things like vintage and classic!

It is great to challenge new things and develop (create) what it does not exist.

However I think that it is also important to preserve the old and good thing at the same time.

The zipper fly is easy to put on and take off after all.

I wear now both button fly and zipper fly!

Lastly, I will show you our few button fly jeans!
