What is "Back Satin (sateen)"?
Have you ever heard of "sateen"?
It is one of the three fundamental weaves.
Three fundamental weaves have plain weave (chambray, canvas ), twill weave (denim, chino), and sateen weave.
Each has its own characteristics and is used for different purposes.
Sateen weave has fewer intersections between the warp and weft yarns, and more of either yarns appear on the surface, resulting in a smooth fabric with less roughness.
It has also glossy look since doesn't have many twill line on the surface.

As the name suggests, using the wrong side of satin fabric as the face.
In other words, it is the fabric that using reverse side which has high proportion of thick yarns as a surface.

When compare to see, back satin is more rough and you can see that the texture is more casual.
