Vintage Aging Process
To bring out the raw, textured charm of the 14.8oz denim, JAPAN BLUE developed this original aging process through countless trials and refinements.
Combining various vintage techniques, skilled artisans adjust details by hand—like puckering and fade patterns—based on the individual characteristics of each garment, ensuring a natural, well-worn look. After processing, the cotton threads are dyed to mimic discoloration caused by years of sun exposure, washing, oxidation, and grime.
The resulting fade recalls the spirit of the Gold Rush era in the mid-1800s.
As you continue wearing it, your jacket will develop even deeper character, aging beyond what any factory finish can replicate—evolving into a truly personal vintage piece.
